The staff greeted us on arrival and acknowledged us each time we walked through reception/lounge area. The hotel has quirky touches throughout. The bed room we had was a double /twin. The beds were super comfy and I had the best nights sleep I have had in an absolute age! Although we were on the front of the hotel neither me or my Daughter were disturbed by noise from outside. We had asked for non feather bedding in our booking and this was acknowledged and provided (thank you). Great shower and bath with some lovely on site toiletries (you can buy in reception if you wish to take away). Lovely touch was complimentary drinks in the room. Handy for the car park (and we noticed later also the train /bus station). Easy walk in to the main shopping areas but also the Abbey, parks , river, Roman baths and tour buses all near by.

This was the first time my husband and I stayed in one of your hotels. The decor is fascinating to say the least. Every room and hallway had intriguing artwork, whimsy everywhere!! The staff was super friendly and even brought us up to our room. They were super helpful and turned on the air conditioning for us, winning. The breakfast was absolutely Brilliant, fit for a King and Queen. The hearty breakfast kept us going until late in the day. The hotel is located only a few blocks from the heart of the Abbey, so you can hit the ground ready for my favorite place in the world-beautiful Bath.

Everything about the hotel was fabulous. Staff were efficient and attentive from the moment you walked through the door . The room was beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and a wonderful bathroom with a roll top Bath and big walk-in shower. Lots of attention to detail to make your stay the best it can be. Bar staff were knowledgeable and had a great drinks menu including cocktails. The breakfast was just one of the best I’ve had in a hotel. Absolutely delicious with an extremely good choice. I would recommend to friends and will definitely be returning in the future

The hotel's location was perfect, nestled centrally, but cleverly situated away from the main square to ensure a tranquil stay. Its features were nothing short of spectacular, precisely what one would expect in a charming English town. The culinary delights at The Elder were a treat, complemented by a delightful little bar that served a wide selection of drinks and nibbles, perfect for unwinding after a long day of travel. Moreover, the unique decor was truly special, making it a must-see experience in itself. Yes, this property is a bit more expensive, but worth the price.

We had to change rooms as the lovely bath tubs were not conducive with 83 years old guests. Getting a "leg over" at three feet is an art you lose around 70 years of age! Luckily you have a splendid lady in Reception called Tracey, who changed us to a room with a "walk-in" shower and our holiday was saved. This same lady organised my mobility scooter to be parked on the ground floor and charged up each day.
